INCREDIBLE MATCH

Last wednesday there was a match between the teacher's team and the winners of the indoors school league. It was an incredile match and practically all school was watching it. The teacher's team was made of Tella, Fran, Eugenio, Guzmán, Chus, Manu and the incredible Manolo, but this team was helped by Óscar and Domi, two students of 4ºE.S.O. The match started interesting and soon the teachers scored his first goal. Tella show us his habilities with the ball and scored an incredible goal between the legs of the goalkeeper. At the end of the match, Manolo start playing and it was really funny because all the school was saying his name, and he scored two goals. We must say that Fran was spectaculas as goalkeeper, he stopped dozens of balls. Sadly the match was too long, and some students of 4ºE.S.O. didn't went to the inglish class, and there were an exam, so they must go to the exams of june. Finally the score was 7-2 for the teachers. Tella was the pichichi of the match, with three goals with a lot of flow. It's the first time in the history of the school that the teachers win a football match. We are wishing to see the next incredible match.

Anticrisis prices

The school market is called “Mercapillo, that comes from “mercadillo”.

It's going to be opened today (Monday, 3rd) and tomorrow (Tuesday, 4th) at break time in the playground.
There, you'll find a lot of handedness made by the children from 5 and 6 primary.

Prices are always low because the objective is to have fun and to do different thing on class, instead of being sitting in a chair studying.

So, if you have a little free time, you can go there to see all thing that our little artist have made.

Graduation with Geluco

As every year, for some students arrive the last year of school.
It's not an easy year because they have to pass the course and they also have to prepare selectivity, so they have to work harder and study more than in the other courses.
It's known that selectivity is hard to prepare, days and days of study, but it is worth because with the selectivity mark you could study what you want.

In Rias Altas the graduation was last week.
In the graduation there were some teachers, student's families and of course, the ones who graduated. And after the graduation they go dinner all together.

Graduation is an important thing for students, but it's also for their parents that see that their little child has grown up, and he/she is going to university and in some cases to become independent and go to study to another city. It's a fact for them to feel proud, very proud.

As you know, our cookers made a big bufette to say goodbye to the students. So we have made Geluco a short interview about the food they have cooked.

-What did you cook for the graduation?
+It was a bufette with different kinds of food.

-How long did it take you to cook everything?
+(Pants and think for a while) It took for abour 4 or 5 hours. It was a lot of work.

-Do you do the same food every year?
+It's varied, but the food that all people like is made every year.

-Do you cook what you want or do you have to cook what they want?
+I write a list with some suggestion, I give it to the cook chief and they choose, but the most of time I cook the food that I suggest.

-Do the students like the food you did this year?
+Yes, of course. Because when we made the menu we think about the food that students like.

San Juan

On 23rd June Galicia's biggest festivity is going to be held in nearly all beaches and fields, and of course everybody is looking forward to this event with anxiety. It also indicates the end of the course that's why many students decide to go there with their friends and pass the
dawn jumping the bonfires, eating sardines or barbecued steak.

Since ancient times, San Juan is considered a time when people burn their bad remembers on the fire, so they start a new period after it. Coruña is the place wich hosts the most amount of people on Riazor and Orzán. And this year is very important for the city tourism because it's wanted to become an International Festivity.

Without any doubt 2013's San Juan is going to be the most popular and crowded of all history.

Indoor school league-winner

The final was between 4ºE.S.O. -B and 1ºBach-A the last wednesday. All players were really nervous and all of them want to win. Finally the result was 1-6 for 1ºBach-A. The boys of 4º were sad because they want win. Next wednesday it will take place the match between 1ºBach-A and the team of teachers! Anybody will loose it, it sounds really interesting and funny.

The last sacrifice

Only three more weeks and students will be free. But in these weeks, students must study hard to pass all subjects or, if they are in 2º bachillerato, they have to prepare the university entrance exams. And if they do, they are going to have a good summer, where their only worry will be not doing anything.

During this course, students have learnt a lot of new things and they have forgotten some of them. Fortunately, the things that they remember are the important ones.

In this days, you are going to study a lot and probably you'll be stressed. But you can motivate yourselves by thinking that a day that goes is a day left to summer holidays!

You only have to do the last sacrifice.

Badminton league- women

In the competition of badminton of 4ºE.S.O. there are two categories, men and women. In the women category 14 girls were playing for arrive to the final. After 12 matches the final was between Claudia Truan and Laura Puente. The match was the last thursday and all the class were looking to this match. It was a really interesting match and it was really equaled, but finally Claudia wined the match. Both girls trained a lot and they were really nervous. Laura said that she wasn't sad because all competitions must have a winner and a looser and she was happy for arriving to the final. The results of the match were: 11-9, 8-11, 12-10.

Badminton league-men

Badminton league-men.

Last Thrusday was celebrated the badminton league-men`s final of 4 ESO where Ricardo won Martín in three sets( 11- 7, 8-11, 12-10). It was an interesting match because each finalist played hard to try the beat the other . Threre were many incredible points and the players demostrated the skill. Ricardo was very happy because last year he was eliminated by his rival in this final and he wanted the rematch. The next year we will have another edition of this tournament.

19th May, "Día das Letras Galegas."

This year “Día das Letras Galegas” is dedicated to the Galician writer Roberto Vidal Bolaño. He was born in Santiago de Compostela on the 50's but sadly, he died eleven years ago.

The theatre was his most common genre he achieved working as a director and scriptwriter during his career. All those years he defended Galician language in all his compositions, that's why this year's festivity is dedicated to him.

He took as an example other leading literature figures such as Rosalía De Castro or Álvaro Cunqueiro. From them, he took many of their works to the theatres.

The weather forecast will change

This weekend we have enjoyed some wonderful and sunny days, where most people decided to go to the beach and sunbathe, otherwise many families went for a walk to make the most of these hot days. But despite the unexpected summer weather we are having, tomorrow will be disturbed by a squall that will bring heavy showers and wind are going to mark these dates.

So we have to take advantage of these climate that we hope could be just an advance of a very sunny summer.

Día de las letras gallegas

Since 1963, this day is to pay tribute to those people that stand out making literature in galicien. Each year it's dedicated to a different person: in 1963 it was a tribute to Rosalía de Castro, in 1964 was a tribute to Castelao, others tributes were for Alfonso X El Sabio, Otero Pedrayo, Álvaro Cunqueiro, Eduardo Blanco Amor... And this year is for... ¡Roberto Vidal Bolaño!
He was a galicien man, that was born in Santiago De Compostela in 1950 and he died in 2002. He was a writter and an actor. He renew and update the literature and theatre in galicien.

Why is it celebrated on May, 17?
Because, in Vigo, it was published the first exemplary of Cantares Galegos by Rosalía de Castro, that mark the Galicien's culture resurgence. And it's one of the most important facts in galicien literature.

As all years, in our school little children decorate our backyard, and as soon as we can, we are going to put some photos and you could see their beautiful creations.

Mother's Day

Yesterday, May 5 , was the Mother's day.

The day when we realize that our moms are one of the most important people in our lifes.
A day when we all thank her because she has done a lot of thing for us: she has missed a lot of thing for us. Instead of go to a party, she has stayed at home while we were babies and we didn't let her sleep. She has been a lot of evenings at the park, sitting in a bench while we were playing, etc. Our mom take care of us without asking anything in return.
So, for this things and more, we must be grateful to our moms.

And remember, you can love your mom every day of the year, not only one.

International Labour Day

At first, this day was to claim the workers' rights, and for social and labor demands.
Now, it's to remind what has happened years ago: the industrial revolution in the United States of America.
On May, 1886, 200,000 workers went on strike, and some policemen, without inform, started to shot against the people. They killed 6 people and a lot of people got wounded.

"Eight hours for work, eight hours for sleep and eight hours for the house."

Now, we celebrate this day because we are grateful to the people that fought for our rights. And because we have holiday!

Badminton in Rias Altas

The past week in P.E. has started the badminton competition. There are two categories, the female category and the male categorie. In each category there are approximetly 15 players. For wining each match you must be the best of three games of 11 points. The first matches had place, and now there are people out of the competition. The loosers of the male category right now are: Luis Rodríguez (vs. Martin Candal) and Esteban López (vs. Richi Sánchez). And in the female categorie: Marta Rodriguez (vs. Claudia Truan), Paloma Díez (vs. Laura Puente). And that's all for now, we will write if there are new notices.

The extension of the first semifinal

Last Monday, 4ºESO and 1ºBach played the second game of their semifinal and they are going to play an extension because in the last match tied.So in the next days is going to celebrate the game to decide first contender in the final. During the course we enjoyed many good matches but I think that the best is for arrive in this extension or in the great final.

Spring arrives to Rias Altas

As in each new season that comes, the little children decorate our backyard with their draws, and it would be less in spring.

Spring has arrived a few day ago and our backyard is now decorated with draws, they're not the most beautiful draws in the world but the important thing is that children have fun painting and showing their parent their draw, because there's no better feeling that when  you receive the congratulations of your parents, and it's bigger at that age.

But the merit of decorating it's not only of the children, it's also for the teachers that help them to make a good draw. Because without the teachers have the backyard decorated would be impossible.

International Day of the Book

As you know, yesterday (April, 23) was the International Day of the Book.

Reading is like watching a film but, instead of seen it, you must imagine it, so it will be like you want. You can imagine the characters, the places, the action...

In this school we have a library (it's not too big, but it has a lot of fantastic books) where you can take books, read them at home and after return them to the library. You can choose a lot of different types: adventure, romantic, science-fiction...
If you think that you don't like reading, I recommend you something: look for a book that has a film and don't watch the film until you've finished the book. Then, you could debate wha's better, the film or the book. And you'll find that, the most of the time, the book is better than the film.

Now Richi & Charly answers!!

-Hello Richi, hello Charly, how are you?
+Charly: Oh, I'm really fine thanks.
*Richi: Yeah, me too.
-What do you think about the indoor school league?
+Charly: I think that the school league is really fun, but Alonso, our leader, turns really nervous and excited and thats the reason of loosing.
*Richi: Yes, I completly agree with the opinion of Charly, Alonso must control himself.
-Are you happy with the results?
*Richi: NO!
+Charly: Alonso has played really bad, he said us he had a backhache, but i dont believe him, he's bad and point.
-In what position do u usually play?
+Charly: I'm goalkeeper pichichi.
*Richi: I play like leading scorer.
-Charly, your team, What would have to change ?
+Charly: all the players must be delivered in each match, and we must have more players, in our match we play all time, and we can't rest, it turns the match harder.
-Richi, how many goals did you scored?
*Richi: I don't now, but approximetly ten.

The up-dating

Itś been a while since school introduced computers in classes, and the touchscreen blackboards. At the beggining children weren´t used to them because it was too much technology and doing online exams was disconcerting. Even there are teachers that haven't started to apply this method on the classes but others, instead, prefer to continue with the old method of books and notebooks.

One of the main problem is the combination of both which sometimes can be disconcertating to the pupils, above all in the low courses.

Opinion

Yago:I think computers are a very good idea and children should make the most of it.
Lucía: The introduction of the technology at classes is inevitable and despite all the students and teacher have to make an efford it will be worth.

+Alonso, what do you thing about the match result?
-It was really equaled until the last 15 minutes.
+How did you play?
-I can not assess myself, but I worked hard...
+In your opinion, who was the best player?
-Martin Candal, but Charly Agra was spectacular.
+Do you think that the victory is fair?
- It's fair that they won, but not much difference. In the end, we were really tired, and we already got a lot of goals.
+Thank you for answer our questions, see you later!
-Bye!

Lunch time

Lunch time at school is not the same for everybody: students from 3
years to 2 eso eat at 1 o'clock. And student from 3eso to 2 of A level eat    at 14:10.
In the first turn to eat, they have to make line in order of cours, except 2nd and 3rd of primary that have their trays at the table, but when student of the second turn go to eat, the A level courses go first because they slip and the other student don't do anything. And if there is a students at the line, all his class goes with him.
I think it's not fair because I think you have to make line and anyone would have to slip. And that students mustn't go to eat all together, I think they must go 5 minutes after the previous course, and of course from 3eso to A level. And for respecting that there must be a teacher looking that anyone slip, because without the teacher it would be the same as now.
Also there is others student that don't bother if someone or even a whole class slip to them because they know that they are going to eat anyway before or after.

Incredible match!

the next friday is going to celebrate the most interesting match of the Indoors League of the school. It's between the students of 4th cours of E.S.O. and the boys of 1st of Bachiller. Alonso, the superstar of 4th of E.S.O. has told to their team some words to inspirate them and make they win. He also has preparate some complex tactics for make defeat the other team.

The canteen

Recently there's been a big change on our canteen that anyone could know that it was to be made.
After a lot of years of being with the chairs and tables in the same way: they were horizontal if you looked them from the door, now they are all vertical except one, that hasn't been changed, the one which is next to the window, that can't be in the same way because they couldn't fit in the canteen.

In that way, the canteen seems to be bigger but now, there is less space to move, for example, there is a table next to the wall in which if you want to move all the people in that side have to come close to the table to let you go out.

There is also a change in the wall of the ''teachers part'' of the canteen. They have put some big green, white and orange tills. And the floor of the ''teachers part'' of the canteen was changed too. But the ''students part'' has been changed only in the way that chairs and tables were placed.

There's also been a change at the right of the door where student go into the canteen. There was a space and now there is a wall of glass tiles and the screen that was there is now next to the table that is nearest to the stairs, hiding it.

Are mobile phones a good or a bad thing?

“Students can't bring their mobile phones or other things like Ipods with camera to class.” This is the new rule in the school.

It seems like some students have filmed some videos and they have uploaded them to the internet but, have they done something wrong? Yes, they have uploaded the video to the internet. Teachers must punish them but not the rest of the students. If someone wants to listen to music and that person only has a Ipod with camera, why can't he listen to music? Because of other person's fault? It's not fair.

I'm not saying that filming a video at school it's a bad thing (teachers thing that it is bad), the bad thing is to upload it to the internet. I think that you can take a photo or a video but you can't upload it to the internet. School's rules say that you can't take photos or videos, if you agree or disagree it's now important, so student must not to do it. Even if you aren't going to upload that photos or videos to the internet.

I know that student have done something wrong because they haven't followed the rules but it's not fair to punish all students because of three or four. Teachers, instead of punish all students, must talk to the people who upload the video and punish them.

In conclusion, mobile phones or Ipods aren't a bad thing if you know how to use them and when you can use them.

Teachers, don't punish all students if only two or three of them have done something wrong, it's not fair. And students with good behaviour will be grateful.

My opinion

I think that it's fair to punish some students but not all students. Because, and I am include in this group, we didn't do anything. I didn't even know they were uploading videos to the internet. In one hand, it's fair to punish some students because they have done something wrong. And in the other hand it's not fair to punish all students without their mobile phones.

The Sport in Rias Altas!!!

The injustice arrived to the Rias Altas when one day our Director of Studies (Alfonso) said us that the students of the second cycle of the E.S.O. can't play in the second freetime. The reason is that some children get hit by some boys that were playing football while the younger children were in their freetime. Personally i think its not just because when we were little we were shooted from the older students and anybody said anything. It's comprensible that we can't play like wild, but it must be ok to play another sports, like basketball, while the children play football.
Luis Rodriguez

Summer is coming

Only 74 days separate us from starting again our summer experience, up to then we have to pass through the final exams and all that they entail.
Till the moment, time hasn't being pleasant these days, but we all hope we can enjoy a really sunny summer. These 3 months left are going to be hard but they are going to pass soon, and this effort worths a lot. But the school gives many chances to pass if you find it very hard, because you have June and September although like all the parents say “Do not put off until tomorrow what you can accomplish today”
Nothing compares with the feeling of freedom; getting up at ten o'clock, spending entire evenings laying on the beach or in the swimming pool.
Many of our classmates are leaving next year ( the main reason is that they want to do the A level in another high school, or they want to do a vocational training ) so this summer is going to be special because our class will be borken after 12 years together in most cases.

Yago Bao and Lucía Linares

Indoor school league

With the final of the regular season of the indoor school football tournament, we arrive in the semifinals. The teams classified were 2ºBach, 1º Bach A , 4ºESO A and 1º Bach B. The Final Four will be celebrated before the end of the course and the favourite is 2ºBach because they are older, and they have good players but the rest of the teams also have options. All the teams have good players so we expect to see an interesting final like every year.

Balls Jailed!

From the origin of the history of the school, our sport hall's mission is to catch balls in the ceiling. There are about fifty balls and fifty children that are sad because they can't play anymore with their balls. We are waiting because Roberto, our PE Teacher, said to us that he will create a complex mechanism, a long stick, to take back our old balls. Thinking in getting our old balls is like a dream which comes true. There are a lot of memories in the sport hall's ceiling.
